Incredibly important pieces of news from around the world, as if
As if those, you know, it's quite strange because I think that this
Is a form of brainwashing, you know, the way in which we take, um
In which our senses are assaulted every day by, uh, by trivia and
And, uh, and irrelevant information that is treated in exactly the
Same way as incredibly important life or death information about
Other parts of the world, and I think it desensitizes us to, to
What's going on, so Transmission is really, for me, you know, feel
The sunshine from the radio actually just putting a sunny perspective
On, on everything and just kind of a wash over everything. I really
Liked, uh, your drawing for this, your revised drawing actually is
Um, is with, uh, the, uh, the, the, the person clutching, clutching
Their, uh, their ears and, and, and trying to drown, for me
Trying to drown out, or to, or to stop all of that overwhelming
Information getting inside their heads, and that worked very well
It's odd that we live in a time where we know, you know, too much
Uh, about things that we can do nothing about. The most political
Acts that we can do are in the sense what we can do with the person
That's sitting next to us at the table, on the bus, sleeping next
To us in our beds, um, and yet we are in a way bombarded with
This constant, in a way, flow of, I don't know what, I don't know
What it becomes, it is, it is like distraction or, or it is like
We, we are invited to look on the whole world as if it were some
Kind of, uh, performance or, or, uh, you know, spectacle. It's
It's about, in a way, disinformation or, or, or, in a way, the
Disease that we have that we, that we crave information, uh
Almost like junkies, um, but actually we are rendered useless through
The receiving of that information and yet, um, the feeling, as
One's listening to the music, is that one is almost, um, hypnotized
Which is exactly what I think information does, with Transmission
That's exactly what it does, and that, that, that I guess was what
I was trying to do is, is to actually do the same thing, it's
It's, it's, it's, I mean I deliberately didn't modulate or, or
Or even have any chord changes at all in terms of, you know, key
Structure or anything. I just, I just very, I just kept it very
Straight and simple and almost like a chant
You know, um, and I think it's because, um
That's how I think information gets into our heads
