Lyrics:

When I was up in Memphis, Tennessee
Jug band music sounds so sweet to me
'Cause it sounds so sweet
It's so hard to beat
Ri-da-doo-dee, jug band music
Certainly was a treat for me
Well, I went to my man, put my hand on his knees
Said, 'If you can't play the jug, you can't play with me'
'Cause it sounds so sweet
It's so hard to beat
Ri-da-doo-dee, jug band music
Certainly was a treat for me
And then I took off my socks, I took off my shoes
I danced all night to them jug band blues
Because it sounds sweet
It's so hard to beat
Ri-da-doo-dee, jug band music
Certainly was a treat for me

And then I went back home, turned on my radio
Jug band music made me stomp and slow
'Cause it sounds so sweet
It's so hard to beat
Ri-da-doo-dee, jug band music
Certainly was a treat for me
And it was way down south in Memphis, Tennessee
Jug band music sounds so sweet to me
'Cause it sounds so sweet
It's so hard to beat
Ri-da-doo-dee, jug band music
Certainly was a treat for
Jug band music certainly was a treat for
Jug band music certainly was a treat for me
