Live Wire actually was inspired by The Staples singers
I mean, that kind of, 'I'll take you there', it's very swampy and
Jeff Trattner wrote that actually with Mavis in mind
Like, what would we write if we were gonna have Mavis Staples coming on
And sing on something. And I sent it to her and she just was like
'Girl, I'ma make a full outta that song' and she did and we as Bannie Raitt
To be on it really for the same reason. I mean, this is a woman who is
Steeps in the Blues, I went to her when I was like 17 years old in St. Louis, Missouri
I'd never seen a woman play slag guitar before, really, I'd never seen a woman
Staying up there and just like, the guitar was just and extension of her
I mean, you've seen that with men. For me, it was just a giant motivating factor
Of my picking up of a guitar and learning to play it
And she's like the daughter of Mavis, I mean, they're very close
And so, the three of us getting to do this together, for me, it was like heaven
That is so cool, can you imagine you are watching somebody on stage when you
Are 17 just dreaming about being able to play guitar like they do
