The Enterpise's central computer becomes infatuated with James Kirk - just as as Romulan warship attacks! But the attack is a deadly feint. The Romulans are being ravaged by a killer plague, and to save their civilization they must invad Canara, where the only known antidote can be found. Suddenly the galaxy is hurtling towards war. TheCanarans threaten mass suicide and the Federatoin masses a counterattack against the Romulans. Kirk, his amorous computer and teh Enterprise crew have one chance left to avert an all out conflagration: they must save their most dangerous enemies -- and deliver the Romulans the antidote at any cost!
